Spaz is a 9yo male who, along with 2 older sisters, was just hours from being euthanized because the family lost their home. Thankfully, DARS was able to find a foster for them and they have been given another chance to finish their lives naturally.

Spaz is neutered and up to date on all of his vaccinations. He is very sweet and loves to get in your lap for a snuggle and to make biscuits on your belly. He's very lively and has many years of love and companionship to offer.

We normally ask a $75 adoption fee, but are offering a special Senior fee of only $25 on these 3 special kitties so they can get settled as soon as possible. If you think you might be able to give Spaz a place in your home and heart or would just like more information, call 662-342-9448; email: or submit a pre-adoption application here: and someone will contact you as soon as possible. Thank you.  (better pics coming).

About Desoto Animal Rescue Society

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of unwanted, abandoned, and abused pets, giving them a second chance at a loving forever home. All animals taken in receive necessary medical care, vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are not a shelter with a facility where you can visit our pets. All rescued pets live in our own homes, where they are evaluated and cared for until they find their ideal adoptive family. We carefully screen prospective homes and require all applicants to go through an adoption application process.

We are not affiliated with the Desoto County Animal Shelter or any governmental agency. We do not receive any taxpayer funds. We operate solely on donations and the revenue we generate from fundraising events. 100% of our incoming funds go directly towards the care of our animals and to pay our vet bills. All other expenses are paid for by our own volunteers.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

We've made it very easy for you to donate one time, set up a recurring payment/sponsorship or do a tribute for someone. Everything is on our website here:

Come Meet Our Pets...

Please see our website for the locations and times of our Adoption Events. We occasionally have special events which we're unable to post on all sites.

Our Adoption Process...

All pets are up-to-date on routine vaccinations and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. All dogs are tested heartworm negative and all cats are tested feline aids/feline leukemia negative. We require a pre-adoption application and a home visit. To help cover our veterinary costs, we ask for a $125 adoption donation for dogs and puppies and a $75 adoption donation for cats and kittens.
