Hi there! My name is Autumn, what is your name? I like your name, don't you like mine too? I think it suits me as pretty fur and eyes are the colors of autumn and my personality has a bit of that season to it as well.

What do I mean by that? Well, like the autumn season in nature, I am beautiful and vibrant, yet also a bit unpredictable. Let me tell you about me. I first arrived at MaxFund back in 2009 and was not here for long before getting adopted by what I thought was my forever family. As time passed, my family grew to include other animals and a baby and I was not ready for all the changes. Needless to say I became unpredictable around the other animals and the baby and it became clear that there was no longer a good fit for me there, So, I'm back here and searching for the right family for me.

I am very sweet and loving and I know that I will do quite well in a more peaceful home, without other animals or children, You see, when it comes down to it, I want all of your love attention and I'll give you mine right back. I sure hope that you are looking for a cat just like me because I am ready to go home with you right now!!! Hurry on down here and make it happen so we can be together forever.

About MaxFund No-Kill Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

The MaxFund is a non-profit organization that was established in May of 1988 to provide medical care for injured pets with no known owners, and to seek out new homes for these animals once they have recovered. The MaxFund is a no-kill dog and cat shelter. MaxFund assists hundreds of people and animals each year by trying to make the correct match between owner and pet. MaxFund adopts our animals to Colorado residents only.

The MaxFund is a TRUE no-kill shelter. There is no pre-sorting of animals into "adoptable" and "non-adoptable" categories, discarding the so-called "unadoptable." The MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. EVERY animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption fees:

Cats: $25
Kittens (under 12 months): $75
Dogs: $125
Puppies (under 6 months) $200
Dogs over 8 years: $75

All applicants will be asked to submit the names and phone numbers of 3 personal references (relatives don't count), the name and phone number of your veterinarian if you have one, the name and phone number of your landlord (if applicable) and information about your current living situation. We also require that all immediate family members meet the animal prior to adoption to ensure compatibility. We would hate to adopt an animal into a family and later find out the dog doesn't like the kids or the husband doesn't like the animal, etc. You can print out an application on our website at

If you are interested in adopting a dog and have filled out an application, MaxFund will ask you to bring any currently owned dogs to the shelter for a “meet-and-greet” to ensure they can stand each other before they become a family. Because we examine adoption applications carefully and contact all references, same-day adoptions are extremely rare and should not be expected!
