Mickey's Story...
How could anyone not love this face? Mickey is an 11 yr old male Shih Tzu, and filled with nothing but joy. Mickey loves everyone he meets, including dogs and cats. He is a very happy boy and likes to give big sloppy kisses. Mickey is NOT a yappy dog at all, and we have only heard him bark once when he wanted food. His favorite thing to do is chill in a soft spot and fall happily asleep. He is not high energy, and would do best in a household that is very calm. Mickey does require drops in his eyes twice a day, due to dry eyes. He doesn’t mind getting his drops, and knows that as soon as he is done, he gets a peanut butter treat. Mickey also had a dental cleaning where a few of his teeth needed to be pulled. Because of this, he can only eat soft food. Mickey has been waiting patiently to find that perfect forever home, where he can be loved and doted on. If you think you are the one for Mickey, please fill out an application at www.rescueAhart.org.

Mickey is up to date on his shots & vaccinations & microchipped. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mickey, a Cincinnati Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
