My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This handsome boy is BAXTER a beautiful purebred grey Weimaraner Baxter weighs in at 75lb, he is a senior at just over 9 yrs old, Baxter is adorable and such a good boy he has the most gorgeous smile.
Baxter`s Story )))) Baxter at the tender age of 9yrs found himself in a dire situation, this beautiful boys world came crashing down on him now that his parents have 2 small children. Baxter fell into arrival of children so dog must go category. Baxter was not happy at the 2 small children getting all the attention and him being cast aside. Baxter could not understand why his daily life had been disrupted after all these years and why he was separated from his family most of the time. We took Baxter out of his situation and placed him in a wonderful foster home. The alternative to him staying with his owners was that he was going to be Euthanized. We could not let that happen. Baxter has a few good years left to enjoy. Baxter has been with us now for 2 months and he is enjoying his life again no longer does he suffer from anxiety and have to eat special food. This boy smiles all the time gone is the depression of his former home. This boy may be 9 yrs old but he is no couch potato, He walks 2 miles a day, chases the bugs plays with his Kong and ball absolutely enjoys car rides and will occasionally dig the yard. Baxter is active but not high maintenance he will just as well cuddle up with you on the sofa
We are now searching for a wonderful forever home for Baxter. A home that will give him the stability love and security he needs, freedom to enjoy his life in a relaxed environment Like most Weimies he loves to be around humans and will follow you around, Baxter is normally a calm boy but does get a little anxious during thunderstorms. He loves to go for a walk he is good on a leash and will come when called. He is good at bathing time. His previous owners compiled the next paragraph ** Baxter has been a wonderful, loyal and friendly dog for most of his life. In his later years he developed thunderstorm anxiety which we treat with Xanax. Unfortunately he was less than thrilled with the addition of young children in our household and were are unable to keep him. It broke our heart to see him go. He loves walks around the neighborhood and would be happy to bark and warn you of any intruders! He doesn't require too much exercise anymore at his age. In addition Baxter has been able to roam freely around the home he dosent need a crate and can be left without concern in the home** We are looking for a home for Baxter where he is not left alone for long periods, not for any reason other than he will gain more stability the more time he can spend around his new family. He is a weim and he needs his interaction he wants to be loved and cuddle up to his humans, Its hard not to fall in love with this boy. Baxter is housebroken, neutered and up to date on all his shots and monthly Heart worm medications. Baxter has several benign growths that come with age on a Weimaraner including one large one on his abdomen. None are any cause for concern. We are looking to turn this boys life around again and give him back what he lost with his previous situation.
We are looking for a forever home that can cherish him and give him the love and attention he needs, A family that is really stable and can give him that forever home that means forever. A family that is relatively calm and have a quieter lifestyle would be perfect, Baxter will blossom with the right interaction. A home with a fenced in yard or acreage where he can walk around and play is required. He would make a wonderful companion for an older family. he is calm so the chaos of young children is not ideal. He is great with older children There were no cats in Baxters home or in his foster home so we cannot say how he would be around cats. So we suggest a cat free home. He is still active and will chase a squirrel. Could you be the one to open up your heart and home, and make Baxter`s life complete again if so you will be rewarded with a wonderful , loyal faithful friend that will bring you endless hours of pleasure. If you would like more information , photos or meet Baxter please contact us on 863-582-2150 or email us at info@lifelinedogrescue.org Baxter is currently in the Plant City Area If you would like to complete our adoption request form please use this link http://www.lifelinedogrescue.org/services/adopt/adoption-form
