My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scooby is an energetic, fun-loving and playful young (7-8 months) Lab-Great Dane mix who is looking for his Shaggy to be his bosom buddy and forever companion. Scooby is a gentle, very submissive and devoted dog who would do best if he had another dog to play with because of his high energy. However, Scooby does enjoy relaxing on the couch or snoozing at your feet while gnawing a bone in his downtime. At his foster home, he has been raised with several foster dogs including a litter of nine lab mix puppies who enjoy running around the yard with Uncle Scooby.

Scooby has a very curious nature and enjoys exploring new things. He is comfortable with cats and only sniffs them when they let him get close, but backs away when they hiss or growl. While he may whine a little because his curiosity gets the best of him, his submissive nature knows boundaries and he never pushes his luck with the foster cats….they look tough!

We think Scooby is a smart boy in spite of his silly nature. He knows ‘Sit’, ‘Come’, ‘Let’s go outside, ’Down’, ‘No’ and ‘Crate’. Scooby doesn’t enjoy being left alone for long periods. However, he is crate-trained and knows how to open the door to his crate using his nose if you wave around his favorite Scooby snack to remind him of his reward….this boy is VERY treat motivated! Scooby is potty trained…no accidents at the foster home from this boy. Scooby is also learning “house-manners” which is very important with a large dog who has big feet and plenty of energy. Scooby snacks is the way to keep this puppy focused and paying attention to whatever you ask of him.

So if you are a light-hearted, fun-loving person who enjoys being amused and entertained by a large, goofy, and sweet dog….then Scooby is the pooch for you. Scooby just wants to know, “Hey Shaggy…DUDE, where ARE you?.....I’m over here waiting for you to take me home!”
