Dudley's Story...
Meet Dudley. This adorable guy spent a year of his life on a chain in the back yard of his home. Yes, a small 12lb dog stuck on a chain. We can't believe it either but that came straight from his owners mouth. Despite a rough start in life Dudley is still quite the happy social boy with the exception of the slightest bit of initial shyness when he meets you. He's learning to like other dogs but can be unsure of them at first. Dudley loves attention and sitting in your lap. He's got to make up for all the attention he missed out on. He is 1 year old and already neutered and ready for his new home. Dog adoption is 100.00 and includes spay/neuter, heartworm testing, age appropriate vaccines including a 3 year rabies, health exam, deworming, and microchipping. Any animal 6 months or older is considered an adult. No animals are vetted until they are adopted as we do not have a vet on staff. Once the animal is adopted we make a vet appointment, and they must go to be vetted before they can go home with an adopter. Call 985.651.7387 for more information regarding adoption.

Act quickly to adopt Dudley. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dudley, a Laplace Papillon/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Papillon/Chihuahua for sale in Laplace, or seeking a Papillon/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Laplace.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Laplace already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Laplace breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Papillon/Chihuahua breeders who help with Papillon/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Laplace paves the way for another one to be saved.
