Angel desperately needs a Bully experienced Foster home!
Following is an update sent in by Angel's foster home (4/16):
Angel is one of those rare pit bulls - she really isn't that energetic of a dog - generally being very laid back and low key...
When she's around people she is very content to lie quietly chewing on her rawhide and never gets into mischief as long as she isn't locked up. I think she would make a great house dog and I think she may be good with little kids. She is not a jumper or a bulldozer (unlike some of our more energetic dogs) and does not demand a lot of petting or attention. She just likes to be around people.
**************
Angel is our sweet, special needs girl. She was born deaf, spent much of her young life outside alone, and because of that will need a very patient, experienced-bully breed home to live in. In addition to being a big sweetheart, she is a very active, exuberant girl who loves to run, jump and play and do all the other active stuff that dogs like to do.
Because of her lack of hearing, small fast-moving things like cats, squirrels, etc. can really scare her. So no small critters, and probably no tiny kids in the home that she goes to. But with the help of her superb eyes and nose, and some great training, Angel has developed some wonderful manners and has learned to compensate quite well for her ears.
She has been evaluated by an expert in Michigan who works with deaf dogs, and Dr. Marilyn, her current caregiver, has had her on some anti-anxiety medication to help her calm down when she's alone (our poor girl would bark everytime she couldn't see someone). Both agree that Angel will do beautifully in the right home.
Angel will probably pair nicely with a male dog, or do very well on her own. She loves playing with her tug toys and she loves getting out some of her boundless energy on long 1.5 mile walks every day and is a pleasure to take on walks. Now she just needs that special someone to call her own!

WHO WE ARE: The Buster Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and re-homing pit bulls and bully breed mixes. Through decades of cruelty, unethical breeding and irresponsible ownership, a once beloved family dog has now found itself the victim of discrimination and abuse, and a source of misdirected public fear. We believe that every dog is an individual, deserving of a loving home, proper care, and a fair shake, regardless of breed. We hope our efforts lead to a better educated and more compassionate public.
The Buster Foundation is an ALL VOLUNTEER organization, and does not operate a shelter. All Buster dogs are cared for in foster homes by volunteers who commit their homes and free time to rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption efforts.
We respect our volunteer's fierce commitment to our dogs and trust you will understand why we cannot always respond immediately to requests and inquiries. We make every effort to have a volunteer respond to inquiries and questions within 72 hours. We thank you for your understanding and patience! Please try again if you do not receive a response within 72 hours.
