Smokey's Story...
http://www.valleydogs.org/smokey.html -- We found Smokey on the streets of Glendale in 112 degree weather. He basically came running up to me while my husband and I were saving another dog. It was like he said "Take me too PLEASE!", and of course I wasn't about to leave him behind.

We've had him for about 3 weeks now and he's only had one accident. He does really good with other dogs big or small, and has lots of energy. He is ok with cats, but I wouldn't leave him unsupervised around them for too long. I don't think he wants to hurt them, but his playfulness might be too much for a little kitty.

He is very petite and will not get much bigger if at all. He has a submissive personality and won't challenge you or another dog. He is a very smart, happy and sweet little dog. We are guessing he is about 9 months old so he will need some training and patience since he is still considered a puppy. Oh and of course he will need plenty of love and belly rubs . Smokey is available for adoption and is looking for a family to call his own. Thank you for reading about Smokey.

Wouldn’t you like to meet me? If so, please complete an adoption interest form and email marciajs40@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smokey, a Gilbert Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Gilbert, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Gilbert.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gilbert already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gilbert breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gilbert paves the way for another one to be saved.
