Polo's Story...
This cutie was an owner surrender - he is currently in foster care and this is what his foster mommy says:Hi, I am Polo, a 10 month old Dachshund/Sheltie mix. My mama is a purebred Dachshund and my daddy is a purebred Sheltie. I am a sweet, affectionate boy who loves people, dogs, cats, and even bunnies. I am house trained, crate trained, and know some commands. My brother, Jack, and I were surrendered together because our family couldn't keep us any longer. We are very smart and have already learned to use the doggie door at our foster mom's house after only 2 hours! We are very bonded and would love to be adopted together, but we do not have to be.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Polo, a Newaygo Dachshund/Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Newaygo, or seeking a Dachshund/Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Newaygo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newaygo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newaygo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Dachshund/Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newaygo paves the way for another one to be saved.
