My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pop Tart! This gorgeous girl had a rough start with AARF. After spending nearly a month at animal control, she was attacked by her kennel mates at the shelter. Her injuries needed immediate vet care, and she spent the first 2 weeks of her time out of animal control at the vet's office. After battling a bad case of kennel cough and a long recovery from her injuries, Pop Tart is now happy and healthy and ready to find her forever home. Our best guess is that she is a red Doberman / pit bull mix, which means she is incredibly athletic, sweet and snuggly and very loyal. Pop Tart seems to be a little too interested in cats and other small critters, so would do best in a home without small furry friends. She needs an active family, one that up for daily playtime and some adventures! Pop Tart is completely house and crate trained and already knows 'sit' and 'shake'. She loves to play, but also enjoys a good snuggle on the couch in the evening. If you think Pop Tart would be a good fit for your family, fill out an application today!

Additional adoption info

All AARF cats have all received their shots, have been FIV/FeLV tested, are on flea and tick preventative and have been microchipped and spayed/neutered. All AARF kitties are fostered in responsible foster homes, where they receive love, attention and socialization. We have a group of fantastic fosters who help us to create an adoptable and healthy companion for your home.

We don't "sell" cats here at AARF. But we do ask for a minimum adoption donation to help us cover the cost of all of the vet care the cats have received. Effective, January 1, 2007, our adoption donation is $85 for cats. All adoption donations are tax-deductible, and help AARF continue our rescue and adoption program.

Go meet their pets

Meeting our pets is by appointment only! We have a limited staff on regular days and many of our pets are in foster homes, so an appointment is necessary to ensure the you get adequate time with your potential new pet and to ensure pets in foster homes are able to be seen.
