Ford's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Ford's Story...
This handsome young man found himself sitting in a rural Arizona shelter waiting for his owner to claim him. It wasn't happening. So with the help of some local animal lovers, "Ford" got busted out of doggie jail and hitched a ride to Phoenix.

We believe Ford to be an Australian Shepherd / Collie mix, approximately 2-3 years old, weighing approximately 60-65 lbs. He's a beautiful boy with a sweet personality. He so wants to be with his human. Ford gets along with all the other dogs and I would guess cats too given his demeanor. My guess is that Ford was abandoned in the countryside or went looking for his family when left alone. He just doesn't seem to be the type that would run away. He likes his people way too much.

Ford is a great car rider. His transporters said he was so good on the ride to Phoenix all the way from Safford, AZ. They said he just sat in the back seat and every now and then, offered his opinion in their conversations.

We have vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and tested Ford for Heartworm, Tick and Lyme disease. Ford's adoption donation will be $150 to help us cover his costs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ford, a Phoenix Collie/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Australian Shepherd for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Collie/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Collie/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
