Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Perry. Although some of my records indicate that I may have been called Skippy at one point, there was some confusion and my foster family decided that I looked more like a Perry than a Skippy (whatever that means)! But I am happy with either name now that I have been rescued by BREW and put into a loving, safe foster home.
I am about 6 months old and based on my current size and my paws I am told that I will be on the larger size for a beagle (35 lb). I think that just means there will be more of me to love. I currently weigh around 20 lbs.
I have been a happy pup since my first day with my foster family, and I came into the house with my tail wagging, although I can still be skittish around some loud noises. I am also impatient for your attention when you come home, but as long as you take a few moments to show me how much you missed me I will settle down quickly.
I definitely still have puppy energy and love to play and wrestle with the other dogs in the house. I also enjoy a good game of fetch and 9 times out of 10 I will bring the ball back to you. Indoors my favorite toys are animals that are soft and squeaky and I can occupy myself for quite a while with them.
I do have a beagle bark that I have been known to exhibit when I sense an intruding squirrel in the yard, but I haven’t been overly loud and do not bark or make a peep when my foster parents leave or when I am put to bed. At night I sleep in a dog room with a soft bed and I go almost every night without an accident. I have mastered the doggie door and have also shown my foster family that I can scratch at the door to let them know when I have to go outside.
I have a typical beagle nose and love to check out all scents around the house and yard, especially anything having to do with food. I have met a few kids so far and love to play with them and follow them around. My foster family thinks I would be good with other dogs or that I could entertain myself as an only dog.
If I sound like the kind of guy that you could use in your life please contact BREW and ask about me. I’m just so excited to find my furever home!
