Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Canelo! The Vet estimates he is around 5 yrs young, ~35 pounds.
Canelo has a very compelling story.... his "family" abandoned him by leaving him on a street corner in the Wine Country in Baja. He suffered alone, starving, living on the streets without any shelter.
When DRWB found him he was taken to the Vet to start his rehabilitation. He was very skinny and his skin was in bad condition, his ears and right eye were injured.
After being rescued he spent a few weeks at the Vet Hospital until his skin got healthier and gained a few pounds, he was also neutered, dewormed and vaccinated. Once recovered he was transported to his foster's home where he has lived since rescue day.
Despite his rough past, Canelo is still a loving dog. He is happy to see people, and loves to enjoy the sunlight and sit by his human companion.
It would be ideal if he goes to a family where he will have the company of a friendly doggy (he loves to play with his friends, run around and play with toys). He absolutely loves going out on walks and car rides.
Canelo currently lives indoor/outdoor, sleeps with his foster; loves to exercise, but then enjoys a quiet moment by his foster to watch TV.
We are looking for a loving family who will open its heart to this loving puppy; Canelo deserves to be happy, loved, respected, and cared for by a human with a big heart.
