Sadie's Story...
Sadie is a purebred miniature Australian Shepherd that is a twenty pound, adorable bundle of energy. She is a five year old red tri-color that needs a forever home that will be as active and loving as she is. She plays very well with dogs her size and even a bit larger and loves her people. She has been spayed and thoroughly vetted but has a bit of an issue with bladder stones. She has a special diet that must be rigidly followed for the next several weeks. Her vet will recheck her in mid-October and hopefully give her a clean bill of health. We will be happy to take applications now for her later adoption.

Sadie is being fostered at Red Barn Kennels by Bob and Shelley Garstin. For more information, contact them directly at 770-893-2821.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sadie, a Big Canoe Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Big Canoe, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Big Canoe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Big Canoe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Big Canoe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Big Canoe paves the way for another one to be saved.
