Information:

September 11, 2013: Kiwi is a very sweet girl that was found with her siblings left in a box on a doorstep to a rescue. Kiwi was bottle fed from the time she was a few days old. She was reported to have an eye issue in one eye, but it appears to have resolved itself as she has grown. The basic eye exam at the vet's office did not show any current abnormality. She is a very energetic, happy and friendly pup. Kiwi LOVES to be near you and will follow you wherever you go. She responds very well to her name and to any correction you may offer her. Kiwi loves to be held, and will try to give you kisses the whole time! She is a great traveler and seems to love being in the car. Kiwi loves to play outside, run around the yard and play with the other pups at her foster home. Everyone she meets is her new friend and she has a zest for life that is palpable! She is currently working on house training and is doing quite well. She sleeps in a kennel on most nights and you rarely ever hear a peep out of her. She does love the nights she is able to cuddle with us in our bed or on the couch, too. She enjoys mealtime and has a good appetite. Due to Kiwi's high energy level, she would fit best with a very active family. I would recommend a family with other pets and/or a little older children as she does still jump up on people (although we are working on this) and it would be best to not have any little ones that cannot anticipate this. Kiwi is going to make an excellent addition to her new forever family!
Wasabi had a poor start in life. He was rescued from a hoarder in West Virginia and was one of 60 dogs living in a two story "house". The windows were blackened so no one could see and and also no sunlight could come in, either. It is guessed that these dogs never saw the light of sun until they were rescued. Wasabi is positive for ehrlichiosis, and is currently on antibiotic treatment for it. He also has a middle ear infection which is throwing his balance off a bit, but that does stop him. Wasabi is a sweet, kind, and gentle soul. He loves to have his ears scratched, and chin rubbed. He will come up to you and want to be in your lap. Wasabi is 38 pounds of pure joy! Update: 2/4/2012Lipton is now 1 year old and weighs 31 lbs. He is doing great and his motor skills are improving daily. Lipton loves to run, stretch and play ball with the dogs in his foster home. Lipton still seems to be hopping when he runs but he is getting faster at it.He is still stiff at times and seems to hyper extend his front legs and walks like a foreign soldier and hops when he runs. As you can see in his videos this does not slow Lipton down from playing.Lipton enjoys all toys and especially loves to chew on Nyla Bones.Lipton is still very curious of the cats but does not seem to want to harm them he just plays rough which some cats may not enjoy. I do not let him unattended where he is in contact with the cats.Lipton is a total lovebug and is housetrained but sometimes it takes Lipton a little longer than most to go to the bathroom. Lipton very seldom will use the bathroom on leash and he goes for walks daily. He understands the sign for sit ,come and no/stop. He loves treats ,mealtime and playtime outside. Lipton loves to go outside and walk around the yard investigating. He walks well on a leash and is very good traveler.Lipton sleeps in a crate in the bedroom at night and is in an expen during any daytime hours his foster family is away from home and where he can see the other dogs in the home.He loves other dogs in his home and is very friendly with them.He does not like strange dogs to run up to him as he will give a little silent snap. Not sure if it is he is beng protective of me or because he is Deaf and Blind in one eye and he feels threatened.A cat free home may be best for Lipton or a home with a tolerant cat.A fenced in yard is preferred for Lipton as he does enjoy to be able to stretch his body out, it is also improving his motor skills as it is also for Lipton's safety.Lipton does not have any recall and can not be off leash outdoors.
