My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cooper arrived on November 5th, weighing in at 19 pounds. He is 2 years old. Cooper is a very curious little dog! As we drove home he loved looking out the window and seeing all the cars go by. When we got home he was very excited to meet my family including my dog who is much larger than him. They ran around the couch and played happily with each other. He played with a ball and a squeaky stuffed toy. When I sat down on the floor with him he put his paws on my chest and stretched his back. Cooper is a very snuggly little dog.He is so sweet! He loves to be held and is a total lap dog. He loves sleeping and sleeps through the night out of the crate. Cooper doesn't need to be kept in a crate, I keep him in a room when I'm not home and when I get back he greets me and everything is the way I left it. He walks well on a leash but is very excitable and sometimes does a silly little prance. He doesn't play with toys too much, he would rather play with my dog or with members of my family. I can take things away from him and put my hand in the bowl while he is eating without a problem. Cooper is not very vocal but will bark when my dog barks or if someone comes to the door.

UPDATE: Cooper continues to be a snuggly little boy. All he wants is to be cuddled and loved. When we went for our walk he was very curious and loved looking at the leaves and birds. He pulls a little on the leash a but is getting better each day. He is a sweet boy! Cooper has also learned to sit and is a very smart little dog. Upon entering my home Cooper was very interested in exploring. He was very excited to meet my family especially my dogs. He is getting along nicely with my 4 year old dog who is 70 lbs. He doesn't seem to understand however that she is much larger than him but it doesn't stop him from playing, he likes other dogs but does not need to be with one. Cooper walks well on a leash. He does his business outdoors on a good schedule. He will also go to the door. If we miss the signals, he has had an accident but we blamed ourselves for that. Like most dogs he is not a big fan of his crate and cries when he goes in it, fortunately he will stop after a couple of minutes. He is not food aggressive with people or with dogs. He is a true sweet boy! He is fostered with a 9 year old child and they get along great!

UPDATE: Cooper continues to be a very loving little dog! He is a very snuggly boy and loves being held and pet. Cooper has been consistently going to the front door to let me know that he needs to go outside and he does his business without a problem. He also walks well on a leash. He is getting along very nicely with my large dog. Cooper loves playing the 9 year old in the home, and loves to follow him all around the house. Cooper is a great little dog for anyone who is willing to give this little guy lots of love! They are fostered out of the shelter at least two weeks or more prior to adopting to monitor health. We take their care seriously!
