Peanut's Story...
This adorable little guy is Peanut, a 1 1/2 year old Chihuahua that came to us from our Newark facility in search of a great new home. Peanut had a home, but was turned in when his family could no longer care for him. Little Peanut was so very shy when he first came in. It was as if he had never really been socialized much with people. Although he is shy, he is not at all aggressive, and he melts as soon as you pick him up and show him some kindness. Peanut has already come out of his shell and is making so many friends. He will tip toe up to you to greet you and lay right down so you can pet him. He just loves to go for walks and check things out, and will look up at you every so often during a walk for reassurance and to give you a tail wag. Peanut has not had much experience with toys but he is eager to see what all the fuss is about. He is just so content to sit in your lap and cuddle up with someone that loves him. Peanut doesn't seem to mind other well behaved dogs and would do best in a home with older, mature children. This little guy is so deserving of a fresh start in life.....please make his dreams come true! File#22825 9/6/13

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peanut, a Forked River Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
