My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

September update: Wally is a beautiful medium size boy who was rescued from the streets of mid-Maine. He appears to be a hunting dog but no one ever claimed this sweet boy. He LOVES to be outdoors and he loves his crate. There was an empty crate in the shelter yard and he kept going right to it and hanging out in there. He had a vet visit today and got all his vaccines and his neuter surgery. The vet estimated him to be 8 or 9 years old so he has plenty of good livin' to do! He is quite energetic for an older gent, and he gets excited to meet new people and to spend time outside. Besides needing some ear medicine he was pronounced healthy and "good to go". He rode with another dog to the vet and did just fine. He was a little overexcited to meet a cat in a carrier, which would make sense with his hunting tendencies. We think he is a springer spaniel, maybe a mix but maybe not. We need to get him into a home environment for foster so we can find him a forever family.

Wally is a senior spaniel mix who was found as a stray in central Maine. No one has claimed him and no one wants to see him live out his retirement years in a kennel. Please consider fostering or adopting this sweet boy. Our volunteer met him and he was very very sweet, just wanted to be loved. He was pretty excited about the cat in the carrier that he met, maybe too interested so a feline-free retirement home would be best.

He needs to be neutered and vaccinated which we will take care of for him. He has quite a bit of energy for an older guy but settles right down - he would love to have a couch and some wonderful humans in his retirement home. His age is estimated at 13. He knows basic commands and is such a doll!

To apply to adopt this dog, please visit our web site to access our application and learn more about adoption through Lucky Pup Rescue, www.luckypuprescue.org.

Please note, we do not have a physical location, but we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.

Thank you for considering rescue!
