My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mystic is a 7 year old solid black 74 lb. female, who has been in rescue since 2009. Her former owner allowed her to be hit by a car and failed to do anything about her severely broken leg, then proceeded to give her away. Mystic was taken by a kind person who did take her to a vet but was unable to afford the care she needed. If GSRCA had not taken Mystic into rescue, she would have been put down. Dr. Milton in Birmingham performed a bone fusion with plating since the fracture was involving the elbow joint. Mystic healed very nicely. She bears some weight on the affected leg and does not let this slow her down much
.
Mystic loves people, including children and likes nothing better than to be close to her person. She is okay with cats. She is basically housetrained but does not care for being crated. *Mystic has storm phobia that occasionally requires medication prior to a storm. It is imperative that she not be left outside if there is a chance of bad weather. As with most all GSRCA adoptions, Msytic would benefit from more socialization and obedience training. We are suggesting Mystic be an only dog because of her reactivity with other dogs. This is probably something that an experienced dog person could work though with patience, training and consistency.
