Blizzard's Story...
Hi my name is Blizzard, I am a young female lab mix, about 1 year old. My foster mom found me at Chicago Animal Care and Control where I was brought in as a stray. I was so sweet and playful that she had to take me home with her! I was so grateful that they took me out of that cage that I spent all day giving my foster family love and kisses. In my new foster home I get to play with three two-legged stepsiblings (ages 8-11), and my three four-legged stepbrothers. I really like to be outside and play with the other dogs. I especially like to fetch a tennis ball, and race my brother up and down the yard. I am both housebroken and crate trained. I need work on leash walking, but my foster family loves to exercise so they promise to work on that with me daily. They are also working on teaching me basic commands. Please consider adopting me…I would love to meet my new forever family soon!! If you are interested in meeting me or have any questions please contact my foster mom at I hope to see you soon!
Blizzard is up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm neg, de-wormed, spayed and microchipped. Fostered in Schaumburg area

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Blizzard, a Gurnee Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Gurnee, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Gurnee.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gurnee already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gurnee breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gurnee paves the way for another one to be saved.
