Cisco's Story...
Cisco is a very sweet, VERY SOFT, lovable boy. He is just under a year old and about 50 lbs. He is still just a puppy so he can be a bit of a busy body and needs chew toys but is generally well behaved. Cisco really enjoys his walks and playing with the other dogs but really loves to cuddle. Cisco is wonderful with other dogs. We will be placing him with an experienced owner who will help him build his confidence. Obedience class will really help. He bonds very well with his family but is nervous when meeting new people and simply need s the new person to greet him appropriately. He needs a quiet household without alot of traffic in and out. Introductions with new people need to be respectful and then he is great. Cisco is a work in progress with all of the potential in the world. He just needs someone who will take the time to help him reach that potential. Cisco will not be placed with children because he requires a quiet home. Cisco is fine with cats that stand their ground and are used to dogs but will chase a cat that runs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cisco, a Portsmouth Harrier/English Setter dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Harrier/English Setter for sale in Portsmouth, or seeking a Harrier/English Setter dog from a breeder in Portsmouth.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portsmouth already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portsmouth breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Harrier/English Setter breeders who help with Harrier/English Setter rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portsmouth paves the way for another one to be saved.
