My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Callie and I’m a 50lb black lab mix. I am housebroken, crate trained and very experienced at cuddling. I love everybody I meet, especially children. The vet thinks I’m between 9 and 11 years old but I have lots of energy and an eagerness to participate in fun activities with you.

Need a traveling companion? Car rides are my favorite and I am an excellent co-pilot! Need to get outside for some exercise? I love to go for walks and hikes. Prefer to have quiet inside leisure time? I love to play with my toys or cuddle with you after your long day! Just want a dog to dress up and show off at your upcoming holiday parties? I'm your girl!

I'm super smart, though my foster mom says not to brag. Even so, since coming to live with her I have mastered “sit”, "stay", "stay", "down", "back up" and "crawl" and I even learned how to ring a bell when I need to go relieve myself outside!

This Holiday season I am grateful for families like you looking to open their homes to dogs like me. I have been patiently waiting for my furever family for almost two years, because I know good things come to those who wait. Nothing would make my smile broader or brighter than having my own home and my own family. My unconditional love and gratitude would be all yours.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
