Odie's Story...
Odie is a VERY special guy! When I think of a great dog, I think of Odie. He had a really rough start to life and his previous owners did not take good care of him. This resulted in his left eye needing to be removed, but with the eye gone the infection is gone as well and he is just like new! Odie is estimated to be a Chihuahua/Terrier Mix that weighs 15 pounds and is around 2 years old. He is honestly one of the happiest dogs I've ever met. He smiles and twirls all the time! It may sound like he is too high of an energy level, but that is the great thing about Odie, he knows when it's time to play and he knows when it is time to relax! Boy can this guy relax, he is the cuddle king! He can be trusted to stay by himself without a crate but also does great in one! He is housetrained, good with cats (a little scared of them), and great with other dogs. He is playful with other dogs and I think he would make a great companion for a child as well. Odie walks well on a leash and makes friends everywhere he goes. His adoption fee includes neuter, microchipping, age appropriate vaccines, rabies, and up to date heartworm prevention. He is being fostered in Huntsville, Alabama but we adopt to many different states/areas. E-mail us about meeting Odie today as we're sure this guy will go fast! info@FORrescue.net

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Odie, a Homewood Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Chihuahua for sale in Homewood, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Homewood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homewood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homewood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Chihuahua breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homewood paves the way for another one to be saved.
