Smalls (foster care)'s Story...
Take a look at this super cute, super young Pittie mix! Smalls (A20996575) is a male, 6 – 12 month old who was dropped off at ACCT after found wandering the streets. This strapping young lad may be a bit small now, but he’s still got a lot of growing to do before he’s a “Biggie”. Although he is listed as a Pitbull mix, one look at that handsome face and you can tell that he definitely has some Lab or Beagle in him! Smalls was a bit shy both in and out of his kennel, and he never displayed any aggressive or intense behavior towards any of our staff – he was completely passive and submissive! While stretching his legs outside, he graciously accepted some pettings, but seemed much more interested in exploring the great outdoors. Our medical staff observed skin laceration on his left hind leg, and some hair loss and inflammation on his paws. Although Smalls received medical treatment at our shelter, he really needs to get out of this stressful environment so he can heal up. Please help Smalls find a loving family where he can grow up to become a big boy!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smalls (foster care), a Philadelphia Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Beagle for sale in Philadelphia, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Beagle dog from a breeder in Philadelphia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Philadelphia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Philadelphia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Beagle breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Philadelphia paves the way for another one to be saved.
