Jonah's Story...
Yes, Jonah is an odd name for a female, but this doggie was a stray and will adjust to whatever you name her! Can you believe this tiny dog, under 10 pounds, was picked up as a stray in early August? She is understandably shy, but if you make yourself small too, she will come to you for comfort. SHE IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR A HOME WITH SMALL CHILDREN!!! She is estimated to be 6 years old. She is microchipped, spayed and vaccinated now. She is ready to put all this homeless ordeal behind her. The shelter is open 7 DAYS A WEEK!!
NOTE: Before your adoption application is approved, your current pets must be up to date on shots and if you rent, you must have landlord approval for the size and breed you are adopting. Both your vet reference and landlord may be called to verify the information you provide.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jonah, a Greensboro Chihuahua/Pomeranian dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Pomeranian for sale in Greensboro, or seeking a Chihuahua/Pomeranian dog from a breeder in Greensboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Greensboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Greensboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Pomeranian breeders who help with Chihuahua/Pomeranian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Greensboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
