My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tucker is a happy, friendly and playful companion. He loves everyone and is up for whatever you would like to do. He would enjoy a family with children that would toss a ball for him or a couple that liked to get out and walk the trails. He is just an all around family dog. Tucker is underweight and is currently 60 lbs. He is approximately 1 - 2 years old.

Here is what his foster family had to say:

One word to describe Tucker is sweetheart. He is a big suck, loves attention and is always happy and wagging his tail. He is definitely a companion dog and loves to be around you. When you are busy doing whatever, he will curl up on the ground beside you.

He loves going for walks and is very energetic outside. He is friendly with everyone and have not had a bad experience in that sense. He would be perfect in a younger family with kids. Such a quick learner!! He learned how to sit and lay down in just 1 day and now does it without any problem. He loves to snuggle and will easily fall asleep on your lap forgetting that he is 50+ pounds! He barely barks, and has no problem going into the crate when its needed. He can easily tell you when its time for him to go to the bathroom.

Tucker loves people of all ages and has never shown any sign of aggression towards anyone or anything. He can be shy when someone or something runs toward him but once he sees it is okay he is fine. He is friendly with other dogs and shows no problem when walking and passing other dogs! Just wants to say hey!

Tucker is very good in the home. He doesn't jump and try to get food from you but he will hang around while you eat like most dogs do! He hasn't gone into the garbage or chewed anything he wasn't allowed to! He definitely listens when you say "no". He is completely house trained and knows to do his business outside. He sleeps in his crate at night and when we are away from the home. He will bark when you first leave but settles down nicely. He walks nicely on leash. Because he is still learning his name "come" could use some work. He does now know how to sit and lay down. He also will sit after coming in from walk and calmly wait for you to remove his leash. He loves to go for car rides and stick his head out the window. He is kind of restless though (the excitement I believe) and doesn't just sit down.

Tucker definitely needs to put some weight on. He is very skinny, (hip bones and rip bones can be visibly seen). We purchased a dog food that is grain free to help him gain some weight. We are mixing that in with the food provided. Other than that appears visibly healthy.

Tucker would do well in just about any family situation. A big yard so he can run around and a family that will have time for him as he loves the attention. Kids who also have energy would be a perfect match. A younger couple for sure.

If you think Tucker would be a good addition to your family, please submit an application for consideration.
