Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Buddy is a sweet 7 year old purebred golden. His previous owners moved to another country and were not able to take him with them.
Buddy has a fantastic golden personality - he loves his people and will quietly shadow you wherever you go. He's not needy, just likes to be in the same room and have a view of what's going on and what you're up to.
Buddy would love a forever home where he can be spoiled and loved. His ideal family will be on the quieter side that will take him for walks every day. Buddy loves other dogs and would do best in a home with another adult dog. He would probably be okay as a solo dog but only with someone that is home a lot. He also OK with kids - He slept on my 8 year old daughter's floor the first couple of nights.
Buddy is housetrained, good on leash, and walks well without one. He likes to sleep on the floor or a dog bed next to his foster family's or kid's bed. He is very overweight, but with a good diet and daily exercise he will be back in shape in no time. The vet says he needs to lose about 20 more lbs. He has lost 10 already. Buddy does have bad hips (mild hip dysplasia) so will need to be kept on a good joint supplement for the rest of his life. He could benefit from pain meds as needed. The vet says with the weight loss and the joint supplements he should be feeling much better. With that being said, Buddy would do better in a home with not many stairs.
Overall, Buddy is a wonderful dog that will be a mellow and loving companion for the right family!
