Morgon is a handsome, affectionate, muscular and energetic, five-year-old, 65-pound, male pit bull terrier looking for a loving guardian.
Sadly, Morgon was found tied to a tree during the Chicago blizzard of February 2011. He landed in a cage at Chicago Animal Care & Control, which at least was warmer. But, when no one claimed him, he was slated for euthanasia due to over-crowding. K9 4 Keeps Rescue took this boy in and has been working with him ever since on trust and training.
Morgon needs a little time to warm up to new people. Luckily he is very food-motivated, so earning his trust is as easy as offering him a treat. He is a happy, energetic, loving dog who wants nothing more than to be someone’s loyal and loved companion. Morgon is an inspiration and an example of what consistency and love can do for a dog.
Morgon loves to play ball and tug. He does get over-stimulated when excited, so he is looking for a calm dog-experienced guardian who will keep Morgon working; he is happiest when he has a job to do. Morgon is no couch potato; he’s more of a running buddy for an active outdoorsy person.
Morgon is great in the car, and very attentive to his people. He’s strong on leash, so he needs an equally strong leader to guide him. He knows the commands sit and down and takes treats nicely from your fingers. He is also fantastic at catching a treat mid-air. Morgon is good with select dogs; his current best friend and playmate is a female pit bull terrier.
