This tiny little lady was rescued mid-July after being abandoned at a shipyard in Richmond. VOKRA came to the rescue and got this sweetheart a warm foster home to live in while she raised her baby kittens. Now that her seven babies have all found their forever homes, Ceci has been spayed and it is her turn! Ceci is very sweet, looks and acts like a kitten herself. She is currently eating like a horse at her new foster mom's house, and should be gaining those much needed extra pounds after her large litter drained them from her. She is in love with her toy mice and throws them around, purring and rolling around with delight. She is completely receptive of her fosters mom's cat, and they are just in the phases of getting to know each other. They chill together and follow each other around! So sweet! She just met foster mom's dogl the first night she was not impressed, but she has since warmed up to him and goes nose to nose on a regular basis. She would not be ideal with a rodent- keeping household; once she saw her foster's pet mice, she made it very clear that they were food and she was going to eat them if given the opportunity. Coming from non-ideal conditions, however, I am sure she was used to having mice as regular meals. Ceci is a lovely, gentle, and affectionate purring machine and anyone would be extremely lucky to have her in their home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ceci, a Vancouver Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
