Bobby's Story...
"Bob Wire" is a handsome 2 yr old red wirehair dachshund. He is learning to live life as a "normal" dog after spending the first 2 yrs of his life in a commercial breeding facility. Although he is still skittish at times, he has begun coming out of his shell and has started showing a fun, playful side. He especially enjoys playing chase with his foster sister, running in circles around the coffee table and back and forth across the room!
Bobby is quite the lover boy, and enjoys snuggling in bed, cuddling in laps, and giving kisses. And when he looks up at you with those big brown eyes, he melts your heart! He gets along well with cats, and other dogs his size. He is kennel trained, but is still working on his potty training. A resident dog and fenced yard will be an absolute requirement for Bobby in his new home. His adoption donation is $250.
If chosen as Bobby's new forever family you must be willing to travel to Omaha NE to pick him up as we do not ship or transport our rescue dogs. Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts only to people living in states neighboring Nebraska. We do not transport or fly our rescued dogs. A securely fenced yard is necessary to adopt one of our terriers. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment for terriers. Adoption applications can be found at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bobby, a Omaha Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Omaha, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Omaha.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Omaha already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Omaha breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Omaha paves the way for another one to be saved.
