My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, my name is Milton. I’m a kind hearted senior, looking for a heart would let me into their home too. Recently, my owner was in the end stages of a terminal illness and couldn’t care for me. Sadly, no one in her family was willing to take me either. She had no other choice but to surrender me to Oakland County Animal Shelter. While I was there, I was terrified and confused with the drastic change, I wasn’t used to being in such an overwhelming place.

Lucky for me, one of the NBS Board Members was visiting OPAC after I was surrendered and was able to work with the shelter staff to get me fully vetted, I needed extensive dental surgery. They also helped get me safe in a foster home. I underwent a long dental surgery in which all but 2 teeth were removed as they were literally rotting in my sore gums. The vet said mine was by far the worst case of dental disease they had ever had. I was a really good boy, so I was able to go back to my foster home on antibiotics and pain medication and am recovering nicely.
I love love LOVE belly rubs and going for walks – I’m a quiet fella who is potty trained, good in my crate, am good with other dogs (although I prefer not to be pounced on, which is why I may do best in a home with older or no children) I’m great for car rides, and am definitely looking for a loving home to give all of my love and affection to. Aside from needing to eat canned dog food for the rest of my life. I got a clean bill of health from the vet and am hoping to find someone who has compassion for my story, and will help me find my happily ever after.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you think that I might be the perfect addition to your family, please contact the awesome volunteers at N.B.S. Animal Rescue at nbsanimalrescue@gmail.com for any additional information or answers to any questions you might have. You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today! Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application. While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and will fill out an adoption application right away, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family. Would you please help me by sharing my picture and information on your Facebook page, or e-mail to your friends and family members? I'm a great pup and I really deserve a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
