My story

My name is Dexter and I am the result of being given away ‘free to a good home’. I am a 3 yr. old, 30 lb. neutered boy that was adopted from Penny Angels in 2010 when I was 9 weeks old. My life was hard to begin with…I came from Kentucky and was bald when I arrived in Rescue. PABR got me and my siblings all taken care of and adopted each of us out to new homes. I went to a family who promised to keep me and take care of me forever. They already had a puggle and both of us got along fine with each other. Six months ago, they got a new puppy that was a nag to me. One day I snapped at the puppy & that is all it took for my owners to want to get rid of me. I packed my bags and was ready to go back to PABR, but the owner’s friend decided that he wanted me. Penny Angels said it was okay because they knew how hard it would be for me back in Rescue.

My new owner probably meant well when he took me into his home, but unfortunately, things didn’t work out; he just sent me BACK to PABR because I had fleas and he said that he could no longer take care of me. I went from sleeping in his bed to getting booted out once again! I am sad and upset that I have been shuffled around so much! Please remember that ‘FREE to a good home’ is not an option if you can’t keep your pet! If anyone is interested in adopting me and giving me a TRUE forever home, please contact Penny Angels!!
