Information:

September 18, 2013: Maybelline (Bella) is ADORABLE! Bella never stops wagging! Her whole little butt wags along with her stubby black tail. She will make someone a wonderful pet and wants so badly to finally be HOME to stay in a real house of her own! Please consider Bella!

Bella is housebroken. She is a wonderful walker....loves her walk! Bella does not pull on the leash, and will trot along for several blocks easily. She has been calm in the house so far, with a big soft bed that she loves. Bella is not a barker, and rests quietly on her bed, jumping right up to greet you when you come into the room.

Bella is the perfect size for a dog. She is 22 pounds, not too big and not tiny. She loves her food and eats her kibble easily. She likes treats too and has the cutest habit of taking dog biscuits and burying them in her bed so that she has little dog treat friends for later!

When she arrived in her BDRA foster home last weekend, she had lived out in a barn, was very badly matted and had a massive flea infestation. Within hours she was at a groomers. The groomer reported that she was very patient, and very well behaved during the eight hour marathon session that normally would have taken two hours! Finally she was free of the mats that were pulling on her legs, and free of the hundreds of fleas she brought with her....it feels so GOOD!! Thank you BDRA!! She now is so proud of her sleek black coat. She will be easy to groom in the future.
Bella does have sight. It appears that she is starting a cataract and possibly had dry eye, both of the right eye. She also seems to be hard of hearing, we will need to check how much hearing loss...but it does not affect her at all, it seems.

She goes on walks with the female resident dog in her foster home, but has not been great with her in the house so far...though seems to be better with the other BDRA foster in the house, a male dog. So far we believe she is telling us that she would rather be an only dog.

Maybelline is really a good girl. She is a great size, great age, and great energy level. She is more than ready to be in her own furever home and put the barn and the fleas behind her. She is so cute now! And so HAPPY!!
