My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Levi Strauss. I am 8 years old and considered Special Needs because I need a very special home who will love me and continue my expensive treatment to keep me happy and allergy free. When I came to rescue I was a mess. I had no fur on my one side and the other was raw and a lot of scar tissue. I scratched and bit at myself all day--I was very uncomfortable. First I was given special food which worked quickly on helping some of my fur grow back but I continued to scratch and bite myself. It was determined I had a staph infection over half of my body so I was treated for that and went to an Animal Skin Doctor. Several different things were tried but I still scratched. I was then started on Atopica which is an expensive drug. I feel this is a wonder drug, my scratching and biting got less and less and now after 3 months I no longer do either. I have lots of time on my paws and get into mischief instead. My food and drugs are expensive each month and I need a home who will continue with this treatment and not experiment with other things, I never want to go back to the way I was. I am only given allergy free treats and food. I love to go on walks, get on with other dogs. One more thing I will need a home with a fenced yard but not chain link, in my former home I learned it felt good to rub along that and if I see that kind of fence I am right there rubbing. I just remember it feeling so good.
