Snowball's Story...
hi! I’m snowball and if you could just indulge me for a minute I’d like to do a little bragging about myself!! (my foster mom says its ok!) I have turned out to be one of the nicest cats they’ve ever fostered (really they said so!) and while initially I wasn’t so enamored with people, I now have let my inner cat out and love to be petted, play with all sorts of toys (I use to think it was silly) love the other cats in the house and they have this great porch where I can watch the birds and chipmunks and I am in my glory! then when I get bored with that I come in for a little snuggling and lots of attention. then I might go play with the other cats or find a nice quiet sunny spot and take a cat nap. life is good and I’m really glad I decided I do like people! so if I do say so myself, I’ve done good!!

there’s only one thing missing – my forever home – as much as l love it here I’d really like to have a home of my own. with other cats or without, makes no difference to me I just want to find the person (or persons!) who’s meant for me. could you be that person? do you have a home to share with me? that would make my day!! and if you have a porch, even better!! let my foster mom know and come see me! Email her at cmm@maine.rr.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Snowball, a Portland Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Portland, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
