Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Shika's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and not good with cats.

Shika's Story...
My name is Shika (shee-kah), which means deer cause my foster mom thought I looked like a little deer. I came from the Cheyenne Animal Shelter in Wyoming after my owners had too many animals and surrendered me. I am a little over a year old.

I like men, women, children and most dogs, but I am a little too rough on cats. I'd be happier in a home without kitties. What I really like is tennis balls!! I LOVE tennis balls! BOL! I love to chase them! I love to chew on them! I love to run around with them! I even love to play fetch!! I'm learning to walk on a leash but I might try to pull a little. I LOVE taking walks (almost as much as I love tennis balls).

Foster Mom says I'm very vocal and like to talk a lot so maybe I should live in a house not an apartment. The shelter also said I had a history of being an escape artist so please have 6 foot fencing to keep me around. I have a LOT of energy but if you give me lots of exercise I'll settle down and cuddle with you. I do get some separation anxiety when my foster daddy leaves. Foster Mom says I act more like a Lab than a Shiba and calls me a Lab in a Shiba coat! Not sure I like that! I'm all Shiba. I'm just my own kind of Shiba!

I would love to come live with you forever (if you'll buy me lots of tennis balls!). My adoption fee is $350.00 which covers my spay, microchip, deworming, distemper and rabies vaccinations and a 6 week training course in your area so I can be the best Shiba I can be!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shika, a Centennial Shiba Inu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shiba Inu for sale in Centennial, or seeking a Shiba Inu dog from a breeder in Centennial.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Centennial already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Centennial breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shiba Inu breeders who help with Shiba Inu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Centennial paves the way for another one to be saved.
