Duke's Story...
We were called out to pick up this dogs Mom. A farmer had found her and confined her. On the way to get her, the Dog Warden noticed 2 pups along side the road in a ditch, so he picked them up. He could tell immediately they were Mom and babies. As soon as he returned to the office, he received a call from a different farmer and he had found another pup. Then the next day Duke comes in. Even though he is a different color he is the same age and Mom took right to him. We are guessing his age to be around 8 weeks and he weighs 13 pounds. We have given him a vaccination and started deworming him. If interested in this fellow or any of his family members, they will be available for adoption after 9:30 a.m. on 10/4/13. Please come to the shelter or call us at 740-335-6630.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke, a Washington Court House Labrador Retriever/Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie for sale in Washington Court House, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie puppy from a breeder in Washington Court House.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Washington Court House already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Washington Court House breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Border Collie breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Washington Court House paves the way for another one to be saved.
