I am already neutered and up to date with shots.
Skittles will need an experienced owner. He is a sweet, adorable, loveable little guy recently rescued from a shelter. He was an owner surrender that was reported to be a Cocker Spaniel/Terrier mix between 1-2 years old. His paper work listed him as white but we’re thinking he looks blond. His foster mom thought he was younger than a year old as he has not yet developed the confidence usually seen in an adult dog. The washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc. scared him at first, but he is all ready getting accustomed to them. Skittles is very smart. He also tends to be bossy with other dogs. It just seems as if he has not had much guidance/training in his short little life. He definitely does not want to share his food with other dogs and will try to take their food from them if allowed to. He doesn’t like to share attention too much either. With all that said, he gets along great with the dogs in his current foster home with guidance as needed. But, for these reasons, we think Skittles will do better in a home where there is someone experienced enough with dogs to help him learn behavior boundaries and develop his self confidence. Skittles weighs about 12 pounds (he’s a little on the skinny side right now), is good on a leash, travels well in a car, appears to be house broken and gets along well with other dogs even though really big dogs really scare him at first. Skittles has been neutered, micro-chipped, brought up to date on vaccinations including bordatella for kennel cough, tested for heartworms and is hearworm negative. If you would like to adopt Skittles please click here
to fill out an adoption application.
Note: All applications are processed in the order received, but an adoption is made to the best application received for each of our animals. All applicants must provide a vet reference on the adoption application. If you are adopting a dog from ARFA, a fenced in yard for the dog will be required. Home visits often occur on each adoption. ARFA has the right to deny adoption to any applicant for any reason without explanation. Please remember that the adoption fee is not for purchase of a dog, but rather to cover the medical cost of all dogs in our care.
