My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mocha is a beautiful young Rottweiler that is in need of a special home that can provide her with stability and patience.

Mocha was found as a stray and was sitting in a shelter when ANML-RESQ was called in to help this beautiful girl. Mocha's past is unknown but it is painfully obvious that she lived a life no dog should. It seems like Mocha was a product of neglect and very possibly abuse as well. All that I can say is that she's missed out a lot in what positive experiences there are in life and in turn made her fearful. This frightened girl was pulling at our heart strings and we knew she had no chance in the shelter. Something terrible has happened to this girl, but if you looked into her eyes for the brief moment she would make contact, you could see a warmth in those eyes of hers...she wanted so much to trust.

Now that Mocha had been in foster care for a while, we found that she is great with dogs (both small and large) and enjoys playing with them outside, well her version of playing is jumping around playfully and running with them in the yard. She also likes to give them kisses often. Mocha would benefit most in a quiet home in the country or a very quiet suburban neighbourhood and preferably with another well rounded dog. Mocha is affectionate and loves to be around her people and her doggie foster brothers and even enjoys the company of men (Mike, her foster dad). She has the most beautiful soulful eyes that will make you melt. One of Mocha's most favourite things in life is food, making it much easier to teach her new things. She is very smart and catches on quick. She knows how to sit, give paw, and plays the target game very well. She walks beautifully on leash and loves to go for hikes down by the ravine and enjoys to be off leash in a secure fenced yard with the other dogs and her people. Mocha is spayed, microchipped and up to date with her vaccines.

Mocha is a girl that requires a home that understands her situation and has experience in working with fearful dogs. She has never exhibited aggressive behaviours and would much prefer to run away when startled and since she is naturally inquisitive, she bounces back quickly considering her past.

All in all, Mocha is a great girl with so much potential, she simply needs guidance and confidence boosting to steadily move forward. I am positive she will overcome her fears in time and become a great adoptable girl for the right family.
