Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Simon is a very handsome, sweet, snuggly and puppyish, two-year-old, 65-pound, male pit bull terrier-mix with a dark chocolate coat and warm brown eyes looking for a loving guardian. Simon was found running stray in Chicago. It was discovered by his foster mom that this smart, lovable, goofy blockhead of a boy knows how to pick locks and open gates. Just imagine how much he can learn with proper training! He has quickly learned the command sit, takes treats gently from your fingers, and is happily learning more lessons in his foster home. Simon on his own, is extremely calm and incredibly gentle. He rises to the occasion to play with other dogs and he has been absolutely wonderful with every dog he has met thus far from Ridgebacks to Goldens and Beagles to Boxers. He is also fabulous with people of all sizes and ages. In his foster home, he has met humans from six-years-old and up. He has a fantastic temperament. Simon loves to play both with other dogs and with his toys. He enjoys gutting stuffed animals, and rope toys are the best for tugging with his foster dog friends. Simon is great on leash, wonderful in the car. He was even lucky enough to go on a road trip to Wisconsin with his foster family and their three dogs. He loves the beach and while he followed the other dogs into the water, he did not really go swimming. Simon is housebroken and in the process of being crate-trained. It helps that his foster mom fills his Kong with lots of great snacks to keep him occupied. Simon is healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. To meet and possibly adopt Simon, please contact his foster mom Aggie at adorosz@yahoo.com or 773-980-0250. His adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control. He is being fostered in Chicago. Simon is looking for an active family to share his life. He would not be happy being crated or home alone for long periods of time.
