Ellie's Story...
Ellie is a young lionhead/rex mix with gorgeous coloring -- dark brown tips (ears, feet, face, tail) and light grey-brown mane and body. She is estimated to have been born in June 2013. She's very sweet, loves to be pet, and is quite agile and quick. She was originally surrendered to a local humane society due to her first family's allergy issues and then she was transferred to our rescue's foster program. She's adapting to life in her foster home quite well and litter box training has gone very well. She is being slowly introduced to new greens and so far loves kale and romaine.
Ellie will be spayed when she reaches six months of age. Her adoption fee is $70. For more information on adopting Ellie please contact us at info@wmicritterhaven.org. Adopters must be at least 18 years old.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ellie, a Grand Rapids Lionhead was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lionhead for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Lionhead from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lionhead breeders who help with Lionhead rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
