Pixie's Story...
Pixie was found as a stray and saved from the kill shelter. We can't imagine what she went through out in this big world all alone! This girl is about 5 lbs, very small and full grown! When she was turned in she had a bad flea problem with a lot of hair loss but she's improving every day now that she's clean and getting some good quality food! Pixie was so scared at first that they kept her in the cat room because it was quieter. Once we got her out and into her foster home she warmed right up and is proving to be a friendly and happy little girl! She is now spayed and ready for her forever home! Pixie is used to dogs and cats and especially loves people but she is VERY small so we'd like her to go to a very careful home :)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pixie, a Portland Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Portland, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
