Mancy's Story...
Mancy is a sweet and sassy 6 month old puppy. She loves to give kisses and to be the center of attention. She barks when she wants to play, but is also is content to snuggle on you lap. She likes puppy toys and raw hide, is doing great with her house training. Mancy developed a spot of demodedic mange, due to stress from her spay and is on ivermectin once daily for the next month and a half. She is not contagious and this should not cause any problems in the future, but her forever home should be willing to continue these meds (which will be sent with her) until they are finished. Mancy is is being fostered in Birmingham, AL. For more information or if you are interested in meeting Mancy please contact us at info@FORrescue.net

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mancy, a Homewood Dachshund/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Labrador Retriever for sale in Homewood, or seeking a Dachshund/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Homewood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homewood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homewood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Dachshund/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homewood paves the way for another one to be saved.
