My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This little fellow is going to make his new family very happy. He is affectionate and playful, listens well and likes to be with his people. He is fine with other pets including cats and loves children. He is just an adorable pet. Skippy is an aduult dog approximately 3 - 5 years old and weighs just 12 lbs. Come meet Skippy at this weekend's "Thanks-for-giving" at Pet Valu, 1 Wilson Street in downtown Hamilton.

Here is what his foster family had to say:

Skippy is a very "Happy-Go-Lucky" little dog. He is a well-adjusted, friendly, affectionate little guy with a big personality. He loves to cuddle as much as he loves to play and he's great with all our other animals and our kids. Right from the moment we got him home, he had no issues with our other dog or cats, and he loves the children. He'll bark if another dog walks by our house, but out on a walk he just goes up and sniffs hello.

Skippy's favourite things are to sit on your lap, go for walks, and play wrestle. He is easy to keep with his short hair, does not shed very much and for the most part is quiet in the home. He knows his basic commands and will come when called. He is fully house trained and we are using a crate when we are out but he doesn't like it. We are using a crate when we are going to be out of the house for longer periods. He does bark initially when left in the crate. He is leash trained. His recall is very good and although he has gotten out of our backyard a couple times, he never goes far and comes back when called.

This dog would suit most families. He is great with kids. He would also do well in a quiet home as he is very affectionate and is just as happy to sit with you. I think he will be a pretty low-maintenance dog for someone.

If you think Skippy would be a good addition to your family, please submit an application for consideration.
