Bernadette is a stunning, black lab mix that came to be a Lucky Lab after she and her foster sister Penny were rescued from a not-so-nice, high-kill shelter in Kentucky. Bernadette is approximately 1 year old and is on the smaller side, weighing about 50 lbs. If you look at this pretty lady, you are sure to notice her long and floppy ears which are super adorable and make her look like she could be mixed with hound. Miss B is currently in a foster home with her foster sister Penny and her foster mom continues to sing her praises! She is described as being very loving, silly, and playful, at a medium to puppy-like energy level. We wouldn’t expect any less out of her considering she is still a young girl! Bernadette is good with other dogs, great with cats and is doing very well with her housebreaking. She is still working on some of her household manners but she catches on quickly. Bernadette’s foster mom is working with her on some basic commands and tricks and so far, she has mastered the “sit” but before long, she will have a menagerie of skills under her belt! Bernadette loves to play outside, she is great at playing fetch, and her favorite game is just to be chased around the yard. She loves going for walks and is reported to do fantastic on a leash! Bernadette does great with crating as she is crated during the day while her foster mom is at work. Crating is recommended with her as opposed to other methods such as just using a baby gate because she is a curious pup and is skilled in “gate hopping”. Bernadette is a very sweet girl who has come a long way in a short time especially after having such a rough start to life. She would make a great family companion for just about any family and she promises to make you smile every day. Bernadette is current on all vaccines, has tested negative for heartworms, is spayed, microchipped, and is being kept on monthly heartworm and flea preventative.
