Olivia's Story...
Olivia is an 8-year-old, tri-colored girl who came to BHRG from the shelter in Lowndes County where she was found as a stray. She has been treated for an abscessed tooth and completed treatment for heartworm. Olivia is friendly, smart, very affectionate and enthusiastic. She is housetrained with a dog door and is working on crate training. She gets along with other dogs and cats too! Olivia is up-to-date on shots, spayed, healthy, and ready to be adopted. She has a healthy appetite, is very intelligent and is easy to teach. Olivia enjoys playing other dogs. She is healthy and ready to find a forever family.

About Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia

About Our Rescue Group...

Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia is a non-profit, volunteer effort to save abandonded and mistreated Basset Hounds. Our rescue effort began in 1991, and we have rescued over 2,500 Bassets since that time. Orginally privately funded by two volunteers, today BHRG is a non-profit charitable organization which exists solely on donations.

Orphaned Bassets are held in foster care until permanent, loving homes can be found.

Adoptions are held each weekend of the month at locations in metro-Atlanta. See our website at www.bhrg.org for specific dates and locations.

A $200 adoption donation is required for dogs under 8 years of age. A $100 donation is required of dogs 8 years old and older. This donation defrays the cost of shots, spay/neuter, heartworm treatments, and other vet costs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Orphaned Bassets are held in foster care until permanent, loving homes can be found.

Adoption events are held each weekend at Petsmart or Petco locations in metro-Atlanta. See our website at www.bhrg.org for specific dates and locations.

Our Adoption Process...

Visit our website at http://www.bhrg.org/adoption.htm and download an adoption application. Once complete, it can be mailed or faxed per the instructions on the application. Once the application is approved, a pre-adoption home visit is required for families outside the metro-Atlanta area. Post-adoption visits are required of families with approved applications. Once the application is received & approved, a volunteer will call to help you select the right hound for your lifestyle.
