My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shady is a handsome, 2-year-old boy who was came to BHRG from the shelter in Henry County. Shady is a rare "blue" (more like gray) basset - a recessive trait. Shady came into the rescue with heartworms, but has successfully completed treatment. Blue bassets tend to have skin issues as part of the recessive gene, and Shady is no exception. He has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and will require inexpensive medication for the rest of his life. If you can provide for Shady's care, you won't regret adopting this young guy! He loves to play with toys by tossing them around and around. He also is very active with his foster brother and loves to play in the backyard. Since he is high energy, a home without small children would be ideal as he may knock them over. He would also love a home with another active dog, but is not required. He is crate-trained, sleeps well through the night, and loves to cuddle with his foster parents. Please consider adopting this beautiful boy and giving him a forever home. Hypothyroidism is easily regulated with very inexpensive medication.
