Are you looking for a new pet or very rewarding volunteer opportunity? Fostering a litter of kittens is a great way to find your perfect match. You get to have living dolls like these in your home, watch them grow and see their personalities develop. You get first pick on the baby you want to adopt. We support you with kitten food and litter, as well as emotional support. This is not easy volunteer work, but is very rewarding. We are looking for foster parents primarily in the CO Springs, Pueblo and Canyon City areas. There are cats euthanized every day in shelters nationwide, four(4) million a year. When you foster you save as many lives as you have room for. The "kitten season" will last until November. The ideal foster parent: would have a quiet, private room in their home available for a month to three months, would demonstrate responsible pet ownership and like-mindedness by having all animals in the house spayed or neutered and current on vaccines, be detail oriented and be able to recognize any behavior changes that may indicate illness. Please email if you have given fostering some serious thought. We always have a continuous need for foster parents for kittens and cats (The kittens in the first picture were found under some wood pallets in my neighbors yard last fall. They were bottle fed for three weeks until the started eating on their own. They were happily adopted together. The cat in the second picture is Graziella, who was happily adopted from the Briargate Petsmart
Pet Project is a foster based animal rescue. We are made up of a small core of highly dedicated volunteers. We sucessfully find homes for between 800-1,000 cats each year with a handful of dogs joining the ranks occasionally. We believe pet overpopulation can be solved through, spay/neuter, responsible pet ownership, education, and sucsessfull adoptions.
