My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Geisla" is a beautiful 1½-yo spayed female GSD who is affectionate, energetic & playful. Geisla likes to be wherever her person is--typical GSD. She is friendly with strangers, and though I haven't had her around children yet, I'm certain she'll be good with them. Geisla gets along great w/ the other dogs at GSRSV's facility, and loves to chase after some of them in play. Very unlikely that Geisla gets along with cats, so she can only go to a home w/out cats. Geisla is low at the shoulders, but stocky; she weighs about 65 lbs. She has a very high-pitch bark for a dog her size.

Geisla is housetrained and is very well-behaved inside. She knows the "sit" command, but not much more. She rides calmly in the car. Geisla pulls strongly on leash at first, but settles down quickly. She has good recall off-leash. Geisla loves to play with tennis balls and to snap at the water stream from a hose pistol. She also likes to swim.

Geisla was found wandering the streets in Lodi one evening in late August and brought to the city shelter. Nobody claimed her, and shelter staff did not put her up for adoption due to her perceived aggressive behavior towards other dogs at the shelter. That "aggression" turned out to be "reaction", as is all too common for GSDs in confinement. Again, Geisla has done great w/ the dogs at GSRSV's facility. When no other rescue group opted to rescue Geisla, GSRSV did so on 9-9-13.

Geisla's adoption fee is $250.
