Mia's Story...
Hello! My name is Mona Mia. My person calls me this because I like to
“talk” to her. My friend Toto and I came into the care of Bare Paws Rescue
last summer and our foster mom loved us both so much she adopted us!
Things were going great until our new mom had to get a divorce and now
she can only keep one of us. Since I am only six years old, very friendly,
happy to meet most people, dogs my size and well behaved older children,
I am the best candidate for adoption. While I will be sad to part with my
Toto, I am very excited to find a forever home. My favorite things to do
include: leashed walks & hikes, cuddling on laps, collecting pets, lounging
in the sun and sleeping under covers. Playing with my squeaky toy and
trying to chase the annoying squirrels is also fun. I am very good for
grooming and sit well to have my nails ground, ears cleaned, teeth
brushed, and hairy bits combed. It would be best for me to have a home
where a steady routine is maintained as I can get anxious if things change
too much. I like having a person around most of the time so I would make a
loving companion for a human with the time and ability to offer me lots of
love, pets and attention. Please come and meet me!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mia, a Gilford Chinese Crested dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chinese Crested for sale in Gilford, or seeking a Chinese Crested dog from a breeder in Gilford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gilford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gilford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chinese Crested breeders who help with Chinese Crested rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gilford paves the way for another one to be saved.
